Kojo – Murdered by TN Cops

Yesterday Cindy Marabito reported via The American Pit Bull Examiner of yet another heinous killing perpetrated by the Cheatham County, Tennessee Police. The victim’s name is Kojo, and he is another innocent dog that has had his life unjustly snuffed out by killer cops. And if the execution wasn’t despicable enough the morally bankrupt police officers threw Kojo’s still warm, lifeless body off of a nearby 150 foot cliff.
An eyewitness who reported the incident and witnessed the entire episode reported “when the officers shot the dog, they dragged it into the woods and threw it off the bluff”. Kojo’s “owner” Brandon Reed has not been able to recover his loving dogs body.
It is clear to me and many others that the cops were up to no good and in fact knew they were wrong which is why they threw Kojo’s body off the bluff. It also comes as no surprise to me that everyone who knew Kojo reports he was an extremely well-mannered and well-adjusted, friendly, loving dog. Kojo will be greatly missed by his “owner” Brandon Reed and also by Buster the bunny who Kojo shared not only a home with but a food bowl.

It is clear to me that many officers believe they have a free pass to kill when it comes to pit bulls. These ethically challenged cops repeatedly used the tired defense that the dog was “vicious” or “aggressive” when in countless cases the witnesses have reported otherwise.

Don’t let the Cheatham County Sheriffs’ Department get away with murder! SPEAK UP regarding this clear abuse of power by the responding police officers who are supposed to serve and protect, not terrorize and needlessly kill the innocent!

This has got to be stopped! The fact that they are so blantant in just killing dogs and worse, knowing they can get away with it because they have a badge on their chest and a gun on their hip and superiors that defend them, is sick, twisted and borders insanity. This is complete mis-conduct and abuse of a firearm. I hope a petition has been started so that the masses can join together in protest and support the owner in this unnecessary killing of his beloved dog. RIP Kojo.
I would prefer for them to get thousands of individual emails than one email with a bunch of signatures. Please email them, thank you for speaking out for Kojo. Sent an email – when does this change? This is sad excuse for police, I have to say that I would be afraid if the police came into my house, b/c my dog would be defending me- who knows if that police officer would take that as a free pass to kill my dog> Things have seriously got to change, RIP Kojo. I hope that the h/o goes after the police department, maybe that will make more noise also.

How in the world can your Sheriff’s Department allow officers to kill a pit bull then drag the dog and throw his body off a 150 ft cliff???? Stand up and do something about this injustice! This entire event was witnessed and is going viral all over facebook! Just because officers carry a gun, does NOT give them the right to shoot animals! Tell me they did not know they did WRONG when they threw the dog’s body off a cliff!!! This is pathetic, an abuse of power and should NOT be tolerated! PLEASE do something to punish these officers!!!
This is getting out of control. Apparently officers are terrified of dogs…. ridiculous. The postmen deal with dogs on a daily basis and rarely if ever have problems. They are around dogs much more than the cops ever have to deal with…. they are not killing our dogs. The officers have pepper spray and tasers if they feel threatened …. why do they think it is okay to murder our pets ???? Losing respect ………
We need to write and call and ensure that there is justice. The more they realize people are watching and will not tolerate this behavior, hopefully, the more these idiot cops will think twice before they do horrible things like this. I also sent an email! This is absolutely unacceptable!!! Another similar case happened here in Birmingham, AL where a 6 month old pit bull pup, which was a family pet, was attacked by the police and shot 6 times. I am a pit bull owner and my dogs are like my children. If someone ever did this to my pit I would personally spend the rest of my life in jail because insanity would take over!!!! These cops are cowards and should be ashamed of themselves!

I agree we have to stand up for KoJo and all the other pets the police have murdered, and to prevent the future killings on our family members, i love my pitbull he saves me on my bad days i couldnt imagine losing him to something do senseless lets put pictures of us and our pits as profile pics to support this family R.I.P KoJo
I’m so saddened by this behavior. NO ONE has the right to take a life unless theirs is under definite threat. Officers should not be above the law…they should be the EXAMPLE of the laws we live by, morally and civilly. This officer should be suspended without pay and made to volunteer at a shelter, learning some empathy along the way.

I am an officer in NYC and have dealing with Pitbulls almost daily, the majority of them are friendly even after being abused, I suggest Training for Law Enforcement acrosss the country, many of my co-workers carry biscuits for the dogs we come across. Many officers just have a fear of this breed and are ignorant to the fact that there are many loving pitbulls.

Kudos Marlena……It is good to know that there are some police officers who have compassion and don’t “judge a book by it’s cover”………People definitely need to be educated on pit bulls and other “bully” breeds and your suggestion of Training fo (ALL) Law Enforcement ACROSS THE COUNTRY is the BEST suggestion I’ve heard in a long time. It is the deed, not the breed. (PS……I was more afraid of my Shih Tzu nipping at someone, than I am of my Pit/Rottie mix(profile pic) )
Yes thank you Marlena, just as i was starting to think with all the cops killing families pets around the US that all cops were just bad you have made me believe again that not all cops act like this around dogs(or bully dogs at that). isn’t this considered “tampering with evidence?” How do they get away with this? Someone needs to help Kojo’s human get his body back.
The website is TOTALLY down! I have tried everything and it simply is offline. It seems very strange that this would happen to an entire gov. website. Is it possible that they have taken it offline to stop people from being able to contact them?
